It’s annoying to pay for a movie service and wonder where all the good movies are. Vudu’s hoping that you won’t mind that feeling quite as much if you get your movies for free (with a few ads, of course).
Vudu, the service normally known for movie rentals, has introduced its new Movies On Us service. It offers a selection of movies completely free, with the occasional ad interruption. There are a few good titles in there, including True Grit, Searching for Bobby Fischer, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and School of Rock.
Of course, you won’t find any Star Wars or big Marvel titles in the bunch here, but it’s hard to complain when it’s free. Of course, if you can’t stand the idea of ads interrupting your movie (a perfectly reasonable opinion), it may not be for you. Still, it’s a nice digital analog to the old movies you could occasionally catch on channels like TBS.
