Windows: If you'd like to shift folders up to the top of the folder list for easy access you can add a symbol to the folder name to quickly pin it to the top.
Although an old trick familiar to many computer veterans it's a great time saver for the uninitiated to add to their bag of tricks. You can add ~, !, or ^ to the start of a file or folder name and that file or folder will appear at the top of an alphabetically sorted list. When you no longer need the folder at the top of the list subtract the symbol from the name and it returns to its proper order in the list again.
