Reader gabriela2400's desktop uses the Gaia customization set to completely revamp the Linux interface into a beautiful work of art, complete with wallpapers, icons, and a custom GTK theme.
The desktop is comprised of the following elements, most of which can be downloaded from the Gaia web site:
- Operating System: Ubuntu 10.04
- Gtk and Emerald theme: Sprout
- Wallpaper: See The World
- Custom Pidgin iconset
- Covergloobus by me
- Conky: 5 individual custom configs
- AWN: Skin by me
- Dock icons: Gaia Icons
This desktop not your style? Why waste time complaining? Instead, get started creating your own killer desktop with the easy-install Rainmeter 1.2 package and show the world what you can do. Of course, using Rainmeter isn't a requirement—you are more than welcome to use any of the best desktop customization tools to turn your desktop into a productive work of art.
Once you've created your own beautifully tweaked (and hopefully productive) desktop, post it over in the Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr Group complete with a description of the programs and tweaks you used (and preferably links as well!), and we just might feature it here.
