Personal lubricant is mostly water, so it's actually pretty easy to make your own. And if you're the shy type, going the DIY route nets you the bonus of not having to throw it down on the counter in front of the sweet old lady running the cash register.

Our friends over at WonderHowTo shared their sexiest tip yet, giving us not one, but three different recipes for making your own personal lubricant. One uses cornstarch and one uses boiled flaxseed oil, but our favorite is their Chocolate Mint Love Butter (via Paleo Mama).

The name sounds delicious and if you really want to you can eat this next lubricant. By using stomach friendly ingredients like honey, peppermint oil, cocoa, and coconut oil. Combining these ingredients creates a delightful whipped cream that can be used with dessert...if you know what I mean. Just be careful with the mint. Too much of a good thing can be... a little too hot.

Check out the post at WonderHowTo for the full instructions.

in the discussions, oil-based lubricants can break down latex condoms. So, if you're using condoms, stick with the water-based lubricants.
