How to Get Rid of the Extra Whitespace in Skype 5 for Mac

Skype 5 for Mac beta came out this morning, and if you use Skype for chat, you may be among the many annoyed at the seeming mountain of whitespace between chats in the new release. Here's how to fix it.

Thanks to Andy at pongsocket, you really don't have to do much to keep the same basic styling for Skype 5 but get rid of all that extra whitespace. You just download a styling file, create a new folder called ChatStyles in ~/Library/Application Support/Skype/, and copy the downloaded file into that folder. Relaunch Skype, then open your preferences, switch to the messaging tab, and change the style to Panamerica Mini from the Style dropdown. Pretty simple.

You can grab the file and follow the directions at pongsocket.
