When Google updated Contacts in Gmail, they also added prominence to Contacts and Tasks in the sidebar. A lot of people didn't like that, but the button that hid Contacts and Tasks didn't work (a known bug). Now it does. So if you were particularly annoyed by those links and wish they'd go away forever, just click the minimize button. This time, it should actually stick. [via Techdows]
