Gmail on the iPhone, at least through the browser, is really growing into its own. It recently added a "Connection Bar" that shows you if you're connected, how your message is going through, and the last time you checked for messages, to eliminate any mental question marks. It will make Gmail an even nicer webapp for iPhones and iPod touch, once the intentional-or-not webapp shortcut slowdown is fixed. [Gmail Blog]
