If you're unhappy with the look of your iPhone 3G or 3GS' backplate, you can give it a prettier, fingerprint- and scratch-free finish with a bit of sandpaper.
Okay, well it's not exactly scratch-free since you're essentially scratching the entire thing into oblivion, but if you don't like the cheap, plastic look of the backplate, this'll give it a whole new lease on life. It's similar to our scour pad method for giving a matte finish to netbooks, but it's an alternative using sandpaper, water, and taking the iPhone apart (so as to not ruin any important pieces). Hit the link for the full instructions, and let us know what you think of this alternative look in the comments.
