We've featured a few ways to stabilize your DSLR or camcorder, but those might not be ideal for certain kinds of shooting. This cheap, compact shoulder rig will keep your camera stable anywhere you need to go.
The parts for this should only cost you about $15 or $20, and most of the parts should be pretty easy to find: all you need is a Yellow Panel Carry Handle, a pool swimming noodle or other type of foam, and a few other small pieces to attach the camera. What's really nice about this stabilizer, though, is that it's pretty small. Other DIY stabilizers, while effective, tend to be a bit large and unwieldy. This one is compact enough that you can probably bring it anywhere with you, and it does a good job of keeping your hands from shaking (and thus creating blurry photos or nausea-inducing video).
