Traditionalists might balk at the idea of not passing out Halloween candy by hand, but if you're not going to be home or you love infusing holiday traditions with micro-circuitry this impressive button, Twitter, and SMS-triggered dispenser is hard to top.
Instructables user Noel Portugal combined his love of Halloween and technology together into a special-effects laden automated candy dispenser. To get candy from the dispenser you can push a big red button or you can send a tweet or text message to activate the device. However it is triggered lights flash, fog shoots out, and other special effects (controlled by X10 automation modules) activate.
You'll need quite a laundry list parts and a willingness to geek out with some microprocessors, but the results are impressive. Check out the full build guide at the link below.
