More than ever before, your sensitive data lives on the web and your communication takes place through your web browser. For this week's Hive Five, we want to hear all about your favorite browser plug-ins that help you increase the security of your web browsing session.

We've all heard of the nightmares that can occur if you happen across a website on the shadier part of the web or even if a malicious ad happens to sneak its way into the rotation on a mainstream website. Many plugins now exist, across multiple browsers, which help to mitigate any damage that a remote website might try to do to your computer.

So what is your go-to plug-in for locking down your browser of choice? Anything from JavaScript disablers to password safes, let us know what helps you to stay safe on the web. This is a slightly different Hive, inasmuch as you'd potentially install more than one of these security plug-ins, but we want to hear all about your favorite anyway.

To nominate, add a new comment below with the text "VOTE: <plug-in or extension name>", one vote per comment.

About the Hive Five: The Hive Five feature series asks readers to answer the most frequently asked question we get: "Which tool is the best?" Once a week we'll put out a call for contenders looking for the best solution to a certain problem, then YOU tell us your favorite tools to get the job done. Every weekend, we'll report back with the top five recommendations and give you a chance to vote on which is best. Last week's Hive Five focused on the five best rewards credit card.
