@drongch: I'm not sure what he studied, the nook was not built in. According to the interview at Unpluggd he built it with his father (presumably they framed the area and drywalled it). Read more

@Nigel Thomas: Yup, I made a note of the carbon content for people entertaining the idea of making the weed whacker leaf mulch for a compost pile. You want to balance your nitrogen-rich and carbon-rich sources.... and leaves are, as you can imagine, quite carbon rich. Read more

@amlamarra: The preface of the book and the back cover note that Linda's original book has become a collaborative effort and re-released as such. Read more

@derilium: Yeah I like the new poll format too... but until things get ironed out with the weird quirk I'm just going to have to go back to taking a screenshot of the "poll report". Read more

@(Starman), The MIDI Man: You and me both. I don't even know what to say in response. Unless PollDaddy can figure out the glitch issue I'm just going to go back to putting a screenshot of the results in the post instead of embedding the poll. Read more

@anniekate76: Depending on the store there is usually a small rack (often an endcap in the paint section). If you don't see it, you should definitely ask... it's not like they just throw the paint out the second they realize it's mis-tinted. Read more

@kelleylynne: I'm promoting this comment because it's the first one I found, reading down the list of comments, that points out the obvious: Read more

@somidscr21: That's very strange, I can allocate up to the limit of my system memory. Obviously allocating all my system memory would be a terrible idea but I've had no problems allocating 4GB to a test Virtualbox before.

@ooptysplat: Someone else with more specific knowledge will hopefully chime in.... but I can't see why not. I've never run into an app I couldn't run. Read more

@somidscr21: I disagree, to an extent. I had Photoshop in a virtual machine for quite awhile and I used it heavily, in a Windows XP virtual machine. As long as you have good hardware and you assign a reasonable amount of memory you should be ok. Read more

@mattycakes: Virtual machines have been my saving grace to "reboot" into Linux. I originally ran Linux back in the day. (I mean *baaaack* in the day... circa 1998) and then only dabbled in it. Now that I have the ease of tinkering/experimenting that comes with having a virtualized version of Linux I'm having way more Read more

@Conley: I believe, up until very recently as Wipeout alluded to... you *had* to do it that way. With Ubuntu 10 I had luck just running it and plugging in my credentials. Read more

@Wipeout: Once you hit three... it becomes increasingly hard to not find a way to justify more. Maybe it's like anything else? If you have two cars you have one for your spouse and one for you. If you have three cars you're starting a collection.... so what's the big deal about number four and five? ;-) Read more

@Wipeout: I've been very pleased with the multi-monitor support. That butter smooth video at the top was shot in one take just moving between the three virtual machines maximized to their respective monitors. Read more

@MisterStegs: That's a good question. Some of the Craigslist tools I've used and enjoyed in the past have lasted less than a few months, others have cruised along without a hiccup. Not really sure what one service does over another to stick around? Read more
