If you’re a fan of HBO Now, the streaming HBO service you can watch without a cable subscription, you used to have to sign up on an iPhone or iPad. Well, HBO’s exclusivity deal with Apple ended today, which means Android and Amazon device users can get in on the fun.
The price hasn’t changed—HBO Now is $15/month, and thanks to the newly released apps you can sign up and stream on any Android phone or tablet, or Amazon Fire tablet. HBO says eventually you’ll be able to use HBO Now anywhere you can currently use HBO Go, which means it should arrive for the Chromecast and Fire TV very soon.
To be fair, you’ve been able to watch HBO Now from lots of different devices, but the exclusivity deal with Apple meant that you had to use iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV to sign up. Now that restriction is gone, and you can grab the HBO Now apps for your preferred device at the links below.
